Molyvos or Mithymna which is the ancient name, but also the official one today, is 62 km away from the island’s capital and is a traditional medieval settlement, which fascinates with its architecture, picturesqueness and view of the Aegean Sea.
It is built amphitheatrically, a painting, with its Medieval Castle at the top from where the settlement begins to end at the sea. At night, like a chandelier hanging from the sky and with the Castle impressing.
In Molyvos you will walk on the enchanting cobbled streets you will climb stairs that will guide you to its picturesque neighborhoods.
You will eat in the taverns local specialties, served by their kind staff. At the port you will enjoy food and drink the traditional ouzo on the island, by the sea with boats and boats to make your dream come true.
Molyvos in 1956 was declared a protected settlement and in 1987 an UNESCO World Heritage Site.
In this beautiful place we built our own tourist houses, on a hill, just a few minutes from the entrance of the village, where the view to the Castle, the settlement and the port is unique.
They are decorated with professional taste and equipped with everything you need to enjoy your stay.
We named these tourist accommodations “Lambetos”, in honor of the hero of the Trojan War, who defended the city of ancient Mithymna, when he was an ally of the Trojans and was killed by Achilles, in a raid.
